Kilmore 5/2 Catskill Mountain (3:00pm)
Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for Catskill Mountain first up but he did a fantastic job to finish third. Getting out to 2000m looks ideal and I suspect he is a pretty talented stayer in the making. If Harry Coffey can give him the right run he is more than capable of beating this lot.

Kilmore 1/3 Cisalpine (1:00pm)
Cisalpine is a debutant from the Chris Waller stable who looks awfully hard to beat off the back of some solid jumpouts at Flemington. He finished second in the most recent of them and could have won easily had the jock wanted to. This is a very weak maiden.

Kilmore 2/10 Star in the Mist (2:00pm)
I don’t think she is a star in the making but there is a race for every horse and she looks to have found hers. She was much improved last time at Cranbourne finishing third, the second horse from that race has run well since, and the Allen/Maher/Eustace partnership is hard to looks past in a race of this low quality.

Pakenham 6/11 Meltdown (7:45pm)
Meltdown caught the eye with a fast finishing third last start at this track over 1200m. She has long shown good ability and 1400m second up looks ideal. Down in the weights, she can fly over them late.

We tipped Captain Corelli last start and he got the money for us wearing blinkers for the first time. We’re usually reluctant to go back to the well but he really does look capable of winning again. Gate Crash and Yellowbrick Road are taking up a lot of market percentage, both look opposable, and Captain Corelli will give himself every chance on speed again.
