Warwick Farm Race Tips

Located in Western Sydney, Warwick Farm is a major training centre and racetrack.

While the bigger meetings are held at Randwick and Rosehill, Warwick Farm is something of a workhorse for the racing industry and is where most midweek and public holiday meetings are conducted.

These days Warwick Farm is a major training centre as well, with a number of prominent trainers based there including Annabel Neasham, Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Bjorn Baker, Joe Pride, Mark Newnham and Greg Hickman.

Training has been taking place in the area since the 1880s.

From a racing perspective, Warwick Farm is a roomy, spacious track where every horse gets their chance. It has a circumference of 1937m and a home straight of 326m.

For races over 1000m, 1100m, 1200m and 1400m a chute is used, meaning that there is only one turn for the entire straight. This means that position in running is typically more important than barrier position.

No major races are run at Warwick Farm, with races such as the Warwick Stakes and Chipping Norton Stakes having been relocated to Randwick.
