Wednesday’s racing tips come from Sandown in Victoria and Ipswich in Queensland. Sandown (Hillside) should be good and Ipswich heavy as the big wet continues.

Sandown 7/5 Santero (6:00pm)
There are few stables going better in 2022 than the Patrick Payne yard and the former top rider can get another winner here with Santero. She chased home the subsequent group winner Castlereagh Kid last start and was the only runner to make significant ground in the race. Billy Egan should position her back of midfield and run over them late.

Chris Waller’s record in Queensland staying races is outstanding and the master trainer should be able to bring up another win here with Rules Don’t Apply. The mare will relish the drop in class from Sydney metro company and she is attractively weighted with 56Kg.

Wellsford has done most of his recent racing at Moonee Valley and while he has won there, he looks to be much better suited at a big spacious track like Sandown. A tough, one paced stayer, he is well placed against this field.

Sandown 6/6 More Secrets (5:25pm)
More Secrets was last seen in the Group 3 Northwood Plume so to be resuming in BM64 company she looks well placed. While she will likely be in the second half of the field from the wide draw, she has the ability to run a slick sectional and might be able to run over them late.

Ipswich 6/10 Trip The Light (5:33pm)
The O’Dea/Hoysted stable has a phenomenal 27% strike rate at Ipswich this season and they can bring up yet another win with Trip The Light. The speedy filly should be able to find the front at a track where leaders are suited and be hard to catch.

Sandown 8/13 Rumbled Again (6:30pm)
Rumbled Again is putting together a terrific record and can win again. The Michael Trotter trained mare was well back in the field last time out at Moonee Valley but made up ground in the blink of the eye to hit the lead at the top of the straight and win running away. This is a suitable assignment for her to continue that winning run.
