Racing is back at Sandown on Wednesday for eight races from the Hillside track. Our best bet is a promising three year old from the Ciaron Maher stable.

The Bobshark was a terrific winner on debut at Cranbourne after being slowly away. He picked his way through the field and showed a brilliant turn of foot to win eased down. This race is tougher but he maps to get the right run stalking a hot speed, and he can run over the top of his rivals late.

Like our best bet, Nova Lights was a brilliant maiden winner last start, winning by six and a half lengths in a time that was nine lengths inside of standard. The Anthony and Sam Freedman trained three year old comes back 100m in trip but she should be able to lead and will take a power of running down.

Rackemann was good first up in what looks to be a very hot form race at Pakenham, with Angland coming out and running well at Caulfield while Truffle Finder was a moral beaten (bias) at Warrnambool. The stewards report noted he didn’t pull up well so should have plenty of improvement in him. This looks a winnable race.

Kiwi stayer Prismatic has been going in much stronger BM84 races and should appreciate the nice class drop in to BM64 company. In-form apprentice Jaylah Kennedy takes off the 3Kg and he should get a lovely run from the gate. One thing you can be certain of is that he will be strong at the end of 2400m.
