Racing Tips – Wednesday Best Bets for Sandown

Midweek racing is back at Sandown for a midweek meeting kicking off at 3.40pm. The track is rated a soft 6 after some rain this morning.

Best Bet

9. Punch Lane
Sandown R7 (7.00pm)

Looks a classic race in two between Lang Park and Punch Lane to close out the card but I am in the corner of the latter. The way he has put fields away at his last couple of starts has been so impressive and he gets a much better draw here which can prove decisive.

Recommended Price: $2.60
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

7. Yahoo Bar
Sandown R1 (3.40pm)

Yahoo Bar was terrific on debut at Seymour and the form out of that race has proved to be excellent, with the winner going on to place next start at Flemington while the third placed horse has bolted in since. The gelding draws to get all the favours and this is a pretty thin metro maiden as far as they go.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

7. Pia Mia
Sandown R3 (4.50pm)

Pia Mia produced a sharply improved effort at Stony Creek last start when ridden aggressively to lead and she dominated the race from start to finish. The lightly raced daughter of Lonhro tackles a race that for a 1000m contest lacks a lot of obvious tempo so she can sit right on speed and prove very hard to beat.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

5. Guns Ablazing
Sandown R4 (5.25pm)

Veteran stayer Guns Ablazing looks well placed getting to his optimum trip of 3000m today. He’s been competitive in all three runs this prep over shorter trips so should be at peak fitness now. Expect him to press forward and take plenty of running down.

Recommended Price: $7.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
