Racing Tips – Wednesday Best Bets for Sandown

Racing is back at Sandown on Wednesday for a twilight meeting, with the first race to be run at 3.40pm. Our best bet is a stayer from the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable.

Best Bet

10. Musgrave
Sandown R6 (6.30pm)

Musgrave is knocking on the door to win a race and gets his chance stepping out to 2400m for the first time this prep. The four year old from the Maher/Eustace stable has run on very strongly over 2040m at Moonee Valley at his last two starts and the combination of the bigger track and extra trip looks ideal for him.

Recommended Price: $4.20
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

8. Time To Chat
Sandown R1 (3.40pm)

Time To Chat went down by the narrowest of margins last start at Seymour and can make amends here. The Maher/Eustace trained three year old is lining up for her third start having sharply improved from her first to her second. Mick Dee will give her every chance from barrier three.

Recommended Price: $3.20
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

8. Gold Manuka
Sandown R4 (5.25pm)

Gold Manuka looks a good bet at big odds here. The gelding couldn’t have been much more impressive winning first up at Yarra Valley and the runner up has since won. Dan Stackhouse should be able to place him just behind the leaders here and be in an ideal spot at the top of the straight.

Recommended Price: $10
Confidence Level: 3/5

1. Lang Park
Sandown R8 (7.30pm)

Lang Park looks a very worthy favourite in the last. The lightly raced gelding was narrowly beaten first up at Moonee Valley as his fitness just gave out late. He should only strip fitter for that effort and from the favourable draw, can record his third win from just five starts.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5
