Racing Tips – Wednesday Best Bets for Mornington

Mornington races hosts a rare metro level meeting on Wednesday with the first of eight races kicking off at 12.25pm. The track should be soft and on the improve with clear weather around.

Best Bet

5. King Couver
Mornington R6 (3:20pm)

King Couver was woeful at his first two runs back from a spell before posting a dominant win at Ballarat last time out. That was more like the horse we had come to known when posting brilliant back to back wins in the spring, a 3.25 length romp at Moonee Valley being particularly memorable. Getting out to 2000m holds no fears, and his best form wins this.

More Racing Tips

3. Mystery Moment
Mornington R2 (1:00pm)

Mystery Moment was a huge drifter in the betting first up at Pakenham and was desperately unlucky not to win regardless. Expect her to have improved significantly off that and the ex Perth mare gets out to her ideal trip here, with the benefit of the claim for Wimeru Pinn. Looks hard to beat, with Lady Court the clear danger.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

1. Rainbiel
Mornington R3 (1:35pm)

Rainbiel has more talent than her record would suggest and this is the easiest race she has contested for some time. While she is first up, her trial and jumpout form has been excellent, winning all three, so she should be ready to go and her fresh form is excellent. Just needs some luck in the run.

Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

1. Court Deep
Mornington R5 (2:45pm)

Court Deep looks over the odds here. The gelding should be ready to peak third up and maps to be able to find the front. That can be all important around this track and the claim for apprentice Luke Campbell certainly helps. From the state’s top stable, he looks over the odds.

Recommended Price: $6.50
Confidence Level: 3/5
