Racing Tips – Wednesday Best Bets for Canterbury and Sandown

Sir Davy - Expert Horse Racing Tips

Canterbury should be heavy with more rain around while Sandown will present a perfect racing surface.

Best Bet

Sandown 6/2 Sir Davy (3:20pm)

Sir Davy was powerful through the line last start at Warrnambool and should be even better suited to the mile this time. The Maher/Eustace trained four year old has been a slow maturer but looks to be finally coming into his own. Expect Ethan Brown to sit off the speed and power home late.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

Canterbury 3/4 Too Much Lippy (2:00pm)

Too Much Lippy resumes from a spell in a winnable race. The Ryan/Alexiou trained mare was an impressive first up winner last time and has trialled well in anticipation of this. From the perfect draw, Nash Rawiller should give her every chance.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Sandown 5/1 Vasmee (2:45pm)

Vasmee was the victim of circumstances last time at Flemington but can bounce back to his best here. Simply, he had to work too hard off a wide draw and a fast tempo and probably didn’t quite see out the mile. Back to 1400m where he was a brilliant winner the start prior, he should be too good.

Recommended Price: $3.60
Confidence Level: 4/5

Canterbury 6/9 Mahagoni (3:45pm)

Mahagoni was the subject of good betting at his first Australian run, before he got well back in the run and flashed home to finish fifth at Rosehill. Expect him to only be improved by that ran and with Jmac up from a favourable draw, he should be too classy for this field.

Recommended Price: $3.30
Confidence Level: 4/5

Sandown 9/5 Head First (5:05pm)

Head First did a terrific job when resuming three weeks ago over 1000m on the Hillside track. She was first up following an extended break and should have taken good improvement. Expect her to sit right up on the speed this time and prove hard to run down.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
