Vivideel has long looked like a stayer of promise and he looks great value to upset the favourite Galloping Guru. No knock on that horse, but he is coming off a win in one of the lowest highweight maidens ever run, so the nine length margin is flattering. Vivideel on the other hand drops in class from a BM64 where he acquitted himself very well last start.

Echo Chrome ran on well over 1400m on debut at Wodonga so should be better suited here out to 1600m. The Japanese bred galloper from the Busuttin/Young stable can hopefully sit closer in the run from the inside draw. Looks a big price against a moderate field.

There was a bit to like about Brazen Bon’s debut win at Yarra Valley. He sat outside a leader that subsequently won next start, then in the closing stages held off a couple of talented types. The time wasn’t stunning but it looks like he has enough ability to go through his grades, especially if he can hold the lead from barrier one.

Sacred Eagle was tried out to a Derby trip in the spring but didn’t quite see it out. Two runs this prep over much shorter trips have been good, especially last start when narrowly downed at Hamilton over 1400m. The extra furlong here is ideal and he should get the right run with Jordan Childs up.
