Racing Tips – Tuesday Best Bets for Mornington

Tuesday’s racing comes from Mornington, on the outer south eastern edge of Melbourne. The track is known for strongly favouring leaders, although the straight is uphill so races can change complexion late.

Best Bet

4. Kaido
Mornington R8 (5.00pm)

Kaido has been a touch costly for punters but he has a stack of ability and looks primed to resume here with a win. It was impossible not to be impressed with his most recent jumpout win at Cranbourne as he showed good speed to lead and then coasted away to win by some margin in what was clearly the fastest time of the morning. Ben Melham should press forward and take all the catching.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

12. Warmonger
Mornington R4 (3.00pm)

Warmonger looks primed to win here off the back of an excellent debut run. The Price/Kent trained three year old was well backed there at Seymour and sat on speed only to find a couple too strong late. He was a touch keen there with the blinkers so expect him to take good improvement. This is a winnable race with Damian Lane up.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

2. Prince of Rome
Mornington R6 (4.00pm)

Prince of Rome strikes a winnable race here. The Waterhouse/Bott trained gelding hasn’t been far away in any of his starts this prep and the step up to 2000m, the claim for Tatum Bull, and a fairly clear speed map in terms of finding the lead, make him a horse with strong appeal in a thin race.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3/5
