Nicco Roll can get the cash for us in the first at Benalla. The Lindsay Park trained three year old wears blinkers for the first time and having finished second – to city performed horses – at two of his three starts, only minor improvement will be required to win against a moderate field.

This is a really week race and old Pufnstuf can been involved at the pointy end. He should be fitter for two runs back from a spell and he draws to get a nice run in transit. Looks nice value at $9 in morning markets.

Benalla 8/8 Indian Doll (5:00pm)
Loved the way that Indian Doll hit the line last start at Avoca. She was bouncing back there off a disappointing heavy track run at Ballarat so the likely firm surface here is in her favour. The tempo should be fairly genuine for a race of this class.
