Racing Tips – Thursday Night Best Bets for Pakenham

Racing heads back to Pakenham on Thursday night for an eight race card, the first race jumping at 5.45pm. The track will be rated good.

Best Bet

5. King's Capital
Pakenham R7 (8.45pm)

King’s Capital is an interesting runner here being an ex-Hong Kong galloper making his Australian debut. Not often you see them come back after 37 starts at seven years of age but his recent trials suggest he is well worth persisting with. In a BM58 he should prove a class above if anything near right.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

4. Cavalry Man
Pakenham R2 (6.15pm)

Cavalry Man looks the value in this race with two key rivals first up. The grey debuted in a $75K maiden here and should have finished closer, having been held up at a critical stage in the straight. The son of So You Think should only be improved for that effort and getting out to a mile looks ideal.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

9. Merrigold
Pakenham R4 (7.15pm)

Merrigold led them up to the 200m here last start before falling in a hole late. The filly was very keen in front so the blinkers coming off looks a positive. From barrier one Damian Lane should be able to find the lead and if she settles a little better, will take a lot of catching at nice odds.

Recommended Price: $7.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

10. Dios
Pakenham R8 (9.15pm)

Godolphin filly Dios keeps racing well and should prove hard to beat again. The filly did have her chance at Benalla last time out but kept finding the line well and the extra furlong here should prove ideal. Luke Currie will give her every chance from barrier four.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3/5
