Racing Tips – Thursday Best Bets for Werribee

Racing on Thursday is at Werribee Racecourse on the south western edge of Greater Melbourne. Expecting genuine wet ground for the meeting.

Best Bet

4. Field of Flutes
Werribee R8 (4:30pm)

Field of Flutes is building a good record and can win again. The three yea old bolted in last start down at Warrnambool and even though it was only a field of three, he did it easily. The Maher/Eustace trained gelding should have no trouble finding the lead and wet ground holds no fears.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

6. Roman Law
Werribee R2 (1:30pm)

Roman Law is on debut as a five year old but it appears the wait may have been worth it based on his recent trials and jumpouts, the last of which was an impressive all the way win here in testing ground. Looks talented and should be too good for these.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

4. Order to Charge
Werribee R3 (2:00pm)

Order To Charge is an ex-Kiwi having his first Australian start for trainer Mike Moroney. The gelding has been placed at his last three starts at home and his jumpout form at Flemington has been solid. From barrier six he shouldn’t be too far away in the run and strikes a winnable race.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

1. Alhambra Lad
Werribee R5 (3:00pm)

Alhambra Lad was heavily backed at Sandown last start but it got a long way back in a leader dominated race and never got into the picture. This race is considerably easier, the extra trip suits and the Patrick Payne stable has really started to find some form in the last couple of weeks. Worth another go.

Recommended Price: $3.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
