Despite the tough run, the mare went on to hit the front only to be swallowed up in the last few strides. From barrier two she is sure to get a much more economical run in transit and blinkers go on for the first time.

Untethered looks primed to break through for his first Australian win. The ex-Kiwi comes off a very good effort at Warrnambool where he ran into a very much in-form horse in Recreant, while the third placegetter Iffycould has come out since and won at Moonee Valley. Suitably drawn, he gets his chance here.
