Racing Tips – Thursday Best Bets for Pakenham

Pakenham hosts a twilight meeting on Thursday with the first race scheduled to jump at 5,00pm. The track will be rated good.

Best Bet

4. Hard To Cross
Pakenham R3 (6.15pm)

Hard To Cross looks a class above here at Pakenham. The Patrick Payne trained gelding resumed with a midfield placing in a much stronger race at Moonee Valley and was a Saturday city winning three year old. With any luck from the draw he should prove too strong.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

8. Influenza
Pakenham R1 (5.00pm)

Damian Lane has a 1 in 3 strike when riding for James Cummings this season and they can get another winner here in Influenza. The filly has trialled very nicely in Sydney for this under very little pressure and it’s interesting the stable have chosen to kick her off down in Melbourne. Looks a very attractive price.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3/5

5. Jakivy
Pakenham R5 (7.15pm)

Jakivy is flying and looks ready to win. Two starts back at Sandown he ran the fastest last 600m of the meeting when charging home from last before not having much luck in a $175K race at Moonee Valley last start. He gets back and will need some luck in a strong maiden, but the ability is certainly there.

Recommended Price: $6.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

6. Mission Supreme
Pakenham R8 (8.45pm)

The Leek stable certainly know how to improve a horse and they have another one on their hands in Mission Supreme. The ex-SA galloper was beaten in a driving finish on debut for the new camp at huge odds first up and should only strip fitter into this. Looks an ideal race.

Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
