Racing Tips – Thursday Best Bets for Pakenham

The Easter long weekend kicks off at Pakenham on Thursday night with an eight race card. The track will be rated good.

Best Bet

1. Legionnaire
Pakenham R4 (7.15pm)

Veteran galloper Legionnaire is going as well as he has for a few seasons and can bring up another win here in the small field. In a race with no other obvious tempo, in-form apprentice Jaylah Kennedy should take him straight to the front. Expect him to take plenty of catching.

Recommended Price: $3.40
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

5. Explosive Rosie
Pakenham R3 6.45pm)

Explosive Rosie was flat out disappointing last start but she is much better than what she showed that day at the Caulfield Heath track. Her first up run was very good and she should appreciate getting back to her home track. Expect her to be ridden quiet from the draw but she can fly over them late.

Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

2. Captain Electric
Pakenham R5 (7.45pm)

Captain Electric has the best recent form reference coming into this race having finished second at Bendigo in a mile maiden last time out. Prefer that form to the Terang race the favourite Tulsa King came out of. This is a winnable race with not many chances.

Recommended Price: $4.20
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

6. Our Turn Now
Pakenham R7 (8.45pm)

This horse is – hopefully – appropriately named given he has had absolutely no luck at his last two starts, especially last time at Bendigo where one of the rival jockeys seemed more concerned about holding him in traffic than winning the race in their own right. Nevertheless, he is going well enough to win and if they breaks go his way, then it might be his turn.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
