He’s Beset looks a great chance of causing an upset in the last race. Yes, he was disappointing last time in Adelaide but his prior form was excellent and he maps to get a great run here with the benefit of the claim for Dakotah Keane. Angland should be storming home but the position in run can make all the difference.

This is as bad a race as you’ll see run within 500Km of Melbourne (picnics excluded) so The Great Wave can definitely win it. He’s had two runs back this time and sharply improved last time out, but should still have more to come. Fred Kersley can stalk Kauai and be too strong late.

Hampton Queen was slowly away and never really got into the race first up at Cranbourne but she can improve significantly on what was her first start in more than a year. Dan Stackhouse should ride her with more intent here and if she brings her best she is well capable of winning this.
