Pakenham 2/2 Cateechee (6:15pm)
Cateechee has missed the start at both runs this time in but it is clear she is an above average filly. Hopefully, Jordan Childs will get her away cleanly but she doesn’t need to ping the lids like Fernando Bale, just get away within a length or two of the field. If she does, she should be way too good for them.

The Godolphin pair of Renosu and Spacewalk head up the market here, but with Spacewalk wearing glue on shoes for the first time the appeal certainly lies with Renosu. Jmac takes over the ride and he has enough early speed to take up a forward position.

Spitfire has the pedigree to be a swimmer and with two second placings from two starts on heavy ground, he has certainly shown good aptitude for this kind of going. Rachel King will head to the front on him and take plenty of catching.

Canterbury 4/7 Compassionate (3:05pm)
Compassionate ran in some much stronger races towards the end of her last prep and resumes in a winnable affair here. She boasts a second placing to Wisdom of Water in a $100K race and anything like that form would be the benchmark here. The Tracey Bartley trained filly has placed at her only run on heavy going.

Canterbury 7/10 Publicist (4:55pm)
Publicist has been freshened up following a good maiden win and can resume here with a win. Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have put the blinkers back on and he should find the lead from the inside draw. This race has some depth but the value on offer is too much to ignore.
