Affluential looks ready to break through at his third run for new trainer John Leek. His first two runs, firstly at Yarra Valley and then here, have been very good. Last start he was unlucky to run into a smart one in Upwoods, which went on to run second at Sandown yesterday. Third up with a hurdle trial under his belt, he should be at peak fitness for this 2500m contest.

Warby Ranges comes out of a hot form race here last start, with two subsequent winners out of it, while the winner Easy Dun ran an excellent race at stakes level in Adelaide. Getting out to a mile will suit and he looks very well placed against this field.

Acclimatise gets a big drop in class into this race and should be a big improver. His first up run at the this track was fine but last time out he wasn’t well suited way up in class and down in trip. He strikes a much more suitable race here and this looks a winnable contest on his best form.

Aiming has been racing most consistently and can win again. He was beaten at Moonee Valley last time by See What I Sea, which admittedly had a fair bit on him, but it’s still a good formline for this BM70. Ethan Brown should press forward here and get the right run on speed.
