Racing Tips – Sunday Best Bets for Echuca, Stony Creek, Canberra & Ellerslie

Roger That

Betseeker has you covered for free expert horse racing tips and best bets at Echuca, Stony Creek, Canberra & Ellerslie.

It’s an excellent Sunday of racing with country cups being held at Echuca and Stony Creek in Victoria, while the Black Opal Stakes for the two year olds is the highlight in Canberra. Over the ditch, it’s Auckland Cup day.

Best Bet

Stony Creek 6/6 Witchachar Star (3:45pm)

Suspect a few jumps will be in Witchachar Star’s future plans but he can win another flat race here. The six year old won his first start for new trainer Chris Hyland at Yarra Valley before having no luck at the same track last time out. This is a very weak affair and he should be ready to peak third up.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

Echuca 2/6 Barclay’s Bank (1:30pm)

Barclay’s Bank resumes as a gelding following a short spell and suspect that could be the making of him. Damian Lane has been booked off the back of some good recent jumpouts and this looks a winnable race.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Echuca 4/6 Pravro (2:40pm)

Pravro certainly saves his best form for this track. His career record reads four wins from eight starts at Echuca, compared to four wins from 59 starts at every other track. The eight year old won this race last year and looks to be going just as well in 2022.

Recommended Price: $9.00/3.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

Ellerslie 9/1 Roger That (3:34pm)

Roger That is back for his third crack at the Auckland Cup having won it two years ago and placing seventh last year. The nine year old probably hit the front too early last year and drops 3Kg in weight into this year’s edition. His most recent effort was okay and he is worth a few dollars at massive odds.

Recommended Price: $26/7.00
Confidence Level: 2/5

Canberra 7/2 Aim (4:21pm)

If there is ever a race for Aim to recapture his best form this is it. The winner of almost $1.7 million gets in very nicely here with just 55Kg and his last start performance in a Gold Coast Magic Millions race is better than it reads on paper.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

Echuca 7/7 Not To Be Mist (4:40pm)

Not To Be Mist will appreciate dropping in grade from some very strong races at Flemington of late. The ex-Perth galloper has been super consistent for new trainer Nick Ryan and he looks beautifully placed here with just 56Kg and a perfect draw in four.

Recommended Price: $3.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
