Moon Yanco has been knocking on the door and looks primed to break through in a very weak race. The mare has two seconds at her last three runs with a metro race in between and the horse she chased home last time was an easy winner at Bendigo on Thursday. Expect Sam Payne to press forward from the barrier and he should be too strong in a race where the mare has a big race fitness edge.

Hot Majesty has been the subject of good backing in early markets and it’s easy to see why off the strength of her recent jumpouts, most particularly her last one at Flemington. There is a long odds on favourite in this race that is hard to knock, but Hot Majesty certainly looks the value.

Howdy was a brilliant debut winner earlier this year and resumes here off the back of an excellent jumpout at Cranbourne. His sectionals on debut were superior to those of Arqana who has won multiple metro races since. Suspect he is well above average and will take holding out.

Backmarkers at Casterton are normally best avoided but Outstanding Reward clearly has the best form in the race. The speed map is unclear here so if Tom Madden can even be three wide with cover about midfield, she should have sufficient turn of foot to run over a pretty ordinary group of horses.
