Golden Boom has built an impressive race record to date with four wins from his first six starts. He most recently ran 3rd behind Red Card in a Listed Race at Eagle Farm and whilst he comes up against some handy horses today, this son of Spirit of Boom brings formalises far superior to the rest of field. If you can get even money or better, he looks a worthy investment.

Mishani Missile just missed at Doomben last time out in a Bm65 over the mile, beaten by a measly 0.04L. He does face a rise in class today but drops 5.5kg on his last run and having won twice at this track/trip in the past, looks a great chance of going one better today.

Ralphie has come back a different horse this prep, with three wins and two 2nds from six starts. He has shown great versatility, winning from both on the speed and coming from last with a withering turn of foot. He will have plenty of options today from Barrier 3 and with a race that looks to have a fair bit of natural speed, Sean Cormack should be able to sit just off them and go straight on by when the whips are cracking.

Regal Lion never fired a shot first-up in the Lord Mayors Cup when beaten more than 10L but obviously took great benefit from the run, going on to win the Ipswich Cup last time out in a brilliant staying effort, coming from near last and holding off his rivals at the death. He will lap up every inch of the mile and a half today and looks a great each-way bet.

Although none of these will reach the heights of the great four-time Cox Plate winning mare, it still looks a great edition of the Winx Guineas. Despite not winning in three attempts this prep, Soothsayer looks to have been placed quite well here by Lee Freedman. He wasn’t beaten far in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic and from the soft draw today, should get the perfect run to break through for his first win this time in.

Vespertine caught the eye last start at Eagle Farm with a run that was sure to enter the blackbook of a few punters. She was run off her feet early and looked hopeless at the top of the straight before balancing up and finishing off strongly to run 6th beaten 3.3L. She doesn’t win out of turn but she should be able to settle closer today and at double figure odds, she is definitely worth a throw at the stumps.
