Espiona has never gone better and can break through for a much deserved second Group 1 victory in this year’s All Aged Stakes. There is a good case to be made that if the runs come she would have won the TJ Smith Stakes and there is no other horse coming out of that race that looks better credentialed. She does have a tendency to find bad luck but if things go her way she should be winning.

This talented five year old comes here first up since this meeting last year but has been jumping out exceptionally well in the lead up. From barrier three he should get the right run in transit.

It’s easy to forget but 12 months ago Goldman was Melbourne Cup favourite off the back of his dominant Roy Higgins win. That was his fourth straight victory and while he disappointed in the spring, his recent trials suggest he has come back well. Expect Regan Bayliss to press forward and take catching.

Deny Knowledge looks very hard to beat in this year’s Mornington Cup. She gets to 2400m for the first time this prep and while she has flopped at the trip before everything about her – including a nine length win over 2200m – suggests she will run it right out.
