Brilliant Kiwi mare Legarto looks the one to beat in the Golden Eagle. She won the Australian Guineas in superb style at her only Australian run back in the autumn, and appears to be going every bit as well this time in. The race should be run at a strong tempo and from barrier six she will get the run of the race about midfield, and can storm over the top late.

Kalapour brings excellent form into this year’s Archer Stakes. The gelding comes off a last start third in the St Leger, the form out of which looks strong. He was also burdened with the topweight there, and drops nicely in weight into this. Damien Oliver should give him every chance from the inside draw.

Hypothetical, despite not winning, is in career best form and looks to get her chance here. The mare should lob into the perfect spot from barrier eight, finding the front and leaders can often be hard to run down in these straight races. Looks over the odds and an excellent bet.

It’sourtime is a phenomenal straight track horse and looks over the odds here. Forgive last start in the Sydney Stakes on go on his previous straight track form which was outstanding. Drawn in the right part of the track and with Blake Shinn up, he is an appealing each way bet at the very least.

Tiz Invincible looks to be the forgotten filly in this year’s Coolmore. She was dominant winning the first two legs of the Princess Series before appearing to not quite run the trip in the Flight Stakes – and had excuses being caught wide off a fast pace. Coming back to 1200m looks ideal, if she handles the straight she will be right in the finish.

Not a strong Derby by any means but I think Riff Rocket is under the odds. Gates came out of the same race as it last start and looks a bigger price than both Riff Rocket and also Apulia, who he went across the line with. Logic says he is a good bet against this field.

I wish Hope In Your Heart had drawn any barrier other than one but here we are. Everything else sets up perfectly for her, between her excellent form coming in to the race and what looks to be a genuine tempo. Let’s just hope Tim Clark has some luck at the right time.

Sky Lab can prove a force to be reckoned with in the Rosehill Gold Cup. The gelding looks to be going well this time in and while he finished back of midfield last time, weight for age isn’t really his go. Back to a handicap with 57Kg he looks nicely placed and from barrier three should get the run of the race.
