Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Eagle Farm, Flemington and Morphettville

Brisbane is being smashed by rain but Eagle Farm drains so well that it shouldn’t be worse than soft. Flemington and Morphettville will be perfect.

Best Bet

Flemington 9/1 Dosh (4:45pm)

Dosh is a group class filly and while she is taking on the older horses here she is capable of beating them. Her recent jumpout at Cranbourne was outstanding, with last week’s Group 1 winner Snapdancer well and truly in her wake. Barrier 10 should be ideal by this time of day, expect her to lead and win.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

Flemington 5/12 Coolth (2:15pm)

Coolth ran a terrific race first up at Caulfield when flashing home to finish third over 1400m. Getting out to a mile on the bigger track in a race that looks to have plenty of speed is the ideal scenario for him. Expect him to be back near last but he is capable of rounding them up late.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Eagle Farm 6/1 Babylon Berlin (2:43pm)

Babylon Berlin is a very classy Kiwi mare making her Australian debut. She has form around the likes of Roch ‘n’ Horse, Entriviere, Sword of State and others who have raced very well at the top level in Australia. She flies fresh, loves wet ground and comes off an outstanding trial win at Cambridge in late April. Jmac rides.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

Flemington 7/1 Warning (3:30pm)

You only have to go back three starts to find some form of Warning’s that would win this race easily given the set weight conditions here. Warning comes here second up off a Warrnambool Cup run, but he won the 2600m ATC St Leger third prep so clearly he is a horse who can win over long trips relatively fresh. Happy to take the gamble at good odds.

Recommended Price: $7.00/2.40
Confidence Level: 3/5

Eagle Farm 8/1 Kementari (4:02pm)

They should run this at a brutal pace and that can set it up for Kementari. He showed with his last start win (albeit assisted by the ride) that he is back near his best and from barrier three Nash should put him in the perfect spot just off the speed. He handles all conditions which is important given the forecast.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

Morphettville 8/2 Commander Harry (4:22pm)

Commander Harry is the clear value in this year’s SA Derby. He has form that ties in with leading chances Jungle Magnate and Detonator Jack but is a much bigger price. The Busuttin/Young and Moor combination claimed the Oaks here a fortnight ago, they looks an excellent chance at huge odds in the Derby.

Recommended Price: $9.00/3.00
Confidence Level: 3/5
