Flemington

Betseeker has you covered for free expert horse racing tips and best bets at Doomben, Flemington and Morphettville.

There are Group 1 races at Doomben, which hosts the 10,000 for the sprinters, while at Morphettville the South Australian Derby takes centre stage.

Best Bet

3. Star Vega
Morphettville R8 (4:22pm)

Star Vega might well be unbeaten with a bit of luck luck and the three year old looks well placed in what is an exceptionally weak stakes race in Adelaide. The gelding was an easy winner on debut at Benalla before having no luck whatsoever in BM64 company against older horses last time out. While this is nominally a stronger race, in reality it is a glorified BM64 and the Freedmans scratched him from Flemington to run here.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

10. Fallen
Flemington R1 (11:55am)

Fallen is on debut for the Peter Moody stable and the Exceed and Excel filly has shown plenty of ability, leading all the way to win her most recent hitout in comfortable fashion. Moody has made an artform of winning these kinds of races and I expect her to be highly competitive.

Recommended Price: $7.50
Confidence Level: 3/5

3. Mr Mojo Risin'
Flemington R2 (12:30pm)

Mr Mojo Risin’ produced an extraordinary finish to win first up at Avondale over 1200m. After missing the start, he was a good six lengths off the leader at the 200m before storming over them late. Twice black type placed in NZ, he looks entirely capable of measuring up on this side of the Tasman.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

5. It'sourtime'
Flemington R6 (2:50pm)

Suspect there is very little between the favourite D’Jumbuck and It’sourtime and the latter certainly represents better value. Both runs this prep have been excellent, with last start on a heavily biased track a much better performance than it reads on paper. Should be hard to hold out.

Recommended Price: $3.30
Confidence Level: 4/5

2. Aberfeldie Boy
Morphettville R7 (3:42pm)

Aberfeldie Boy nearly should have won the VRC Derby in the spring, flying home for third when the race was all over. That hasn’t proved to be the strongest form in the world but guess what, this isn’t a strong SA Derby either. The gelding’s last start third at Pakenham behind D’Aguilar and White Marlin was an excellent performance. Expect him to get well back but he will be flying home.

Recommended Price: $6.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

2. Mazu
Doomben R8 (4:02pm)

Mazu won the Doomben 10,000 last year – over the road at Eagle Farm – but seems to have been forgotten about in the lead up this year. Last start in the All Aged over 1400m he was only fair (don’t think he runs the trip) but two prior in the TJ Smith he was excellent. With favourite Giga Kick likely to be giving him a start, he will be hard to run down.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
