Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Caulfield and Rosehill

Bank Maur - Horse Racing Tips

Caulfield hosts the $4 million All Star Mile while up at Rosehill, the Group 1 Coolmore Classic for the fillies and mares is the highlight.

Best Bet

1. Zougotcha
Rosehill R8 (4.35pm)

Zougotcha showed with a dominant first up win that she has come back as well as ever this prep. The horse she beat, Lady Laguna, then stepped out and won the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes last start. Zougotcha does have to contend with the topweight here but she has earned it and will get the right run from barrier two with Jmac up.

Recommended Price: $3.60
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

8. Wymark
Rosehill R2 (1.05pm)

The penny has really dropped for Wymark in the last couple of starts, winning his maiden two back before breaking the track record in a nine length romp at Newcastle. He looks a middle distance horse of real promise and looks primed to win again here.

Recommended Price: $2.60
Confidence Level: 4/5

1. Nugget
Caulfield R5 (2.30pm)

This is the first race in more than a year for Nugget that hasn’t been a Group 1, Sydney Group 2 or All Star Mile. He has run very well in many of those, just proving to be a length or two off the absolute top liners. Well, the top liners are nowhere to be found here so even with the 60Kg he looks well placed to record another win.

Recommended Price: $2.90
Confidence Level: 4/5

2. Explosive Jack
Rosehill R5 (2.50pm)

Explosive Jack is capable of sharp improvement with the blinkers going on for the first time. Last year’s Sydney Cup winner did nothing first up but should strip much fitter for that effort. This is an exceptionally weak race so at $51 he looks big odds to win and $11 looks over the odds for him to run into the first two (two places only in a field of seven).

Recommended Price: $26/8.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

2. Les Vampires
Rosehill R7 (4.00pm)

Les Vampires should have lost no admirers with a tough on pace effort in the Randwick Guineas, a race that was run at a brutal tempo. This is a much easier contest and while he has drawn wide, he should have the early speed to cross and take up the running. Should prove a class above.

Recommended Price: $3.20
Confidence Level: 4/5

2. Bank Maur
Caulfield R10 (5.35pm)

Bank Maur has been kept to sprinting trips this prep and while I’d love to see him at 1400m, he can still figure prominently here over 1200m. He absolutely motored home last start at Moonee Valley, running the second fastest last 200m of the entire meeting. Expect him to get back again but he can get over them late.

Recommended Price: $6.50
Confidence Level: 3/5
