Racing Tips – Saturday Best Bets for Caulfield and Eagle Farm

Caulfield Racing Tips

Caulfield hosts an interesting program on Saturday while up at Eagle Farm the Group 1 Tatts Tiara is the final feature of the carnival.

Best Bet

4. Sheva
Caulfield R5 (1.35pm)

Sheva resumes here off the back of some outstanding jumpout form, clearly beating The Astrologist in her most recent hitout at Flemingotn, which looks good for this fillies race. She had excellent form prior to a spell having won at Caulfield on Guineas Day before placing at stakes level on Cox Plate day. Mick Dee will need to overcome the wide draw but she has the speed to do it.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

More Racing Tips

5. Golden Crusader
Caulfield R3 (12.25pm)

Golden Crusader looks primed here third up. The gelding put the writing on the wall with a top last start effort at Sandown when only beaten by the very much in-form Hard To Cross. There doesn’t look much speed here and being on pace is likely to be a big advantage, especially early. From barrier one Carleen Hefel should lead and take a lot of catching.

Recommended Price: $4.20
Confidence Level: 4/5

1. Deny Knowledge
Eagle Farm R5 (2.07pm)

Deny Knowledge is a mare that can mix her form but the good version is very good and well capable of winning this kind of race. She has changed hands since her last start and is now in the hands of Anthony and Sam Freedman, if they bring the best out of her, then look out.

Recommended Price: $4.60
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

1. Vow and Declare
Eagle Farm R6 (2.47pm)

It’s been many years since Vow and Declare’s Melbourne Cup win but he has become a very consistent horse at this lower group level, especially when he can get in at set weights as he does here. There was a lot to like about his run in the Q22 and the extra 200m is only in his favour.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

8. C'est Magique
Eagle Farm R8 (3.58pm)

It’s a tough ask to improve a horse from Grahame Begg but Chris Waller appears to have done it with this mare who won brilliantly at her first start for the new stable in the Dane Ripper Stakes. She should only be open to further improvement so looks nice value compared to Bella Nipotina who has been up forever and has a tough draw to contend with.

Recommended Price: $5.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
