Tony Be is exceptionally well placed here. The former Kiwi hasn’t quite measured up in Sydney (albeit he has won a race there) so the thin middle distance ranks in Queensland look ideal, particularly this Class 3 race where he is so well weighted. Expect him to get back in the field but they should run along, he can get over them late.

Sydney visitor Luna Rocks looks well over the odds here. It took prolific winner No Statement to down her last time and she has a very good overall record. Kin was no doubt impressive last start but it will get back, expect Luna Rocks to sit on speed and take some catching at big odds.

Difficult to look past Va Via here. The Godolphin filly was just so impressive last start, coming from the back and blowing her rivals away, with the final margin of victory being more than five lengths. Simply put, a repeat of that effort will see her winning this.

Mnementh is in a rich vein of form and the pride of Albury looks well placed to win again. The gelding was a dominant all the way winner last time at Flemington and that tactical speed should serve him well in a race where they don’t look to go too quickly early. While he in untried at weight for age, this is a fairly thin Group 3 contest and it’s only Ingratiating – poor first up – that he is badly off against.

Wisdom of Water is having his first start for the O’Dea/Hoysted stable and if his recent trial is anything to go by, they look to have him going better than ever. Sent out over 1000m at Deagon, the entire spaced his rivals to win by an effortless four length margin. If he replicates that kind of performance on raceday, he should be winning this.
