Angel of Light has been going around in much better races than this and the Hawkes trained mare looks ideally placed stepping up to 3000m. She placed behind Strawberry Rock at Moonee Valley last time (ran well Saturday) and Yarrawonga before that. With only 54Kg she is ideally placed.

Aztec State showed a stack of ability in his first prep, not least in his debut win at Bendigo where he beat home the very classy Roll On High. The gelding went on to be black type placed later that spring. He resumes here off the back of some excellent jumpout form and is obviously a proven fresh performer.

Fragile Love was terrific first up at Caulfield when finishing second under the tough impost of 62Kg. She will only strip fitter for that effort and finds a winnable race here. If the rain has arrived by this point, she is well placed to handle it being by the stallion No Nay Never.

Sir Kingsford produced an eye catching performance on Adelaide Cup day, coming from last over 1200m after having missed the start to run fourth. The gelding is a winner out to 2000m so stepping out to the mile here from 1200m will suit, as will getting the services of Damian Lane.
