Star Buyer was enormous at his first start for new trainer Ben Brisbourne last week, covering an enormous amount of ground and still flashing home to run second at Kyneton. The fact he races here on the quick back up looks a big positive and he draws to get a much better run here from barrier three.

Handy maiden this but Spirit of Jo has shown really nice ability at the trials and can go close here. She has had just the one race start for a seventh at Bendigo over winter, spelled since, she looked very impressive winning a recent trial at Seymour under very little pressure. Strong chance if she runs up to that.

Loved the run of Native Leaf last time at Wagga. He was slowly away and had to pick his way through the field but stormed home to run third. Clearly the lightly raced seven year old has plenty of talent and last prep he was a winner third up. Just needs some luck from the draw to be highly competitive here.
