Group 1 racing returns to Moonee Valley on Friday night for the William Reid Stakes.
Best Bet
Revolutionary Miss looks well placed against the older mares. The filly was huge winning the Kewney Stakes last start at Flemington, overcoming significant interference in the run to get up in the last stride. Her prior Sydney form was terrific, she is a class act and should be too good here.
Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 4.5/5
More Racing Tips
Teofilo Star is a tough on pace runner that should take a lot of getting past. While 63Kg looks like a big weight on paper he is only 4Kg over the limit. Both runs this time in have been excellent, winning in easy style first up at Moe before running a narrow second last time at Pakenham. Moonee Valley should suit his on-pace style.

It’s an open edition of the William Reid and In The Congo has strong claims. From barrier one he could well kick up and hold the front and if he does, he will prove awfully hard to run down. If not, he should be leader’s back at worst and with luck he can win from that spot. This is his first crack at G1 level this season but he has won at this level at the past. Expect the in-from Waterhouse/Bott stable to have him primed and ready to go.
Recommended Price: $5.50

Tass is up from maiden grade but this is a very weak race for a Group 3. The filly was a dominant all the way winner over this track and trip last start and should have no trouble finding the front. Expect Johnny Allen to press forward and take a lot of catching.
