Good Friday racing is very much part of the calendar now in Victoria with the highlight of the meeting at Yarra Valley being the $500,000 Country Discovery.

Mislead has struck rich vein of form and can win again. The filly was terrific last start in the G2 Kewney Stakes at Flemington, running fifth at huge odds. She could have finished a little closer too if she wasn’t held up at the top of the straight. This is a significant class drop and with just 54Kg she is so well placed against this field.

Arizona Dreaming is on the quick back up from a good tough win at Horsham last week and looks well placed here. In a race without much obvious speed he should press forward and take up the running around a track where that is often half the battle. There isn’t much depth here, looks big overs at double figure odds.

With a number of key scratchings in the race Starspangledbaby looks very well placed here. She shares the highest official handicap rating in the race of 82 with Reo, but that horse is really struggling at present. Starspangledbaby on the other hand is on the quick back up from a tough win in the Bairnsdale Cup just last Sunday. Will race on speed and can win again.

Barrier 13 should become barrier 7 after scratchings for Recommendation and he can win this race from there. His Australia Stakes run behind Veight and Southport Tycoon looks really good in hindsight and he lost no admirers when sixth last start in the Oakleigh Plate. Just needs the right run early to be going close here.
