Ultimate Pride comes off a last start flop in Group 3 company and looks much better placed in maiden grade up on the Sunshine Coast. The Chris Waller trained filly has solid maiden form at the NSW provincial level that looks well and truly up to this. Jimmy Orman should give her every chance from a good draw.

The Snowden’s are having yet another excellent season with their two year olds and they have another likely type here in Petrograd. The Russian Revolution filly comes to the races with a solid grounding, having trialled four times, including around some smart types including North Star Lass. This looks winnable on debut.

Picaroon is probably better suited over further but expect legendary local trainer Michael O’Leary to have her ready to win here. The Fiorente mare has shown a superb turn of foot and while she will be giving away a start, can fly over them late.

Killourney has always shown talent and the imported galloper can crack it for his first Australian win in the 2022 Mount Gambier Cup. The way he hit the line first up was most impressive and he gets a significant 8Kg weight drop into this.
