Racing Tips – Friday Best Bets for Colac, Hobart and Moonee Valley

In the afternoon racing heads to Colac for the Cup while at night it’s off to Moonee Valley. Down in Hobart, the Group 3 Mystic Journey is the highlight.

Best Bet

13. Geegees Mistruth
Hobart R7 (6.49pm)

The star filly of Tassie racing can claim this very weak Group 3 first up. The highest rated of the older horses has an official rating of 85 which is about mid-Saturday level which speaks volumes. Geegees Mistruth ran very well in a number of group races in the spring up in Melbourne. She’s never been beaten in Tassie. Should simply be too good for them.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

2. Billy The Brute
Colac R1 (2.00pm)

The form out of Billy’s first up run at Seymour has stacked up very well with one winner and a couple more close up placings coming out of the race, in better contests than this. That was the gelding’s first run for new trainer Pat Kearney so he should only strip fitter into this.

Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

3. Khoekhoe
Colac R7 (5.00pm)

Thought Khoekhoe was great value in the Colac Cup off the back of a terrific first up run in rthe Camperdown edition. He led the field at a good clip and it was only the last 100m where Rhinoceros gets the better of him. Fitter and out to his right trip, he should get the run of the race.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3/5

4. Delicious Tycoon
Moonee Valley R7 (9.15pm)

This is very similar to the race that this mare contested a fortnight ago with the key factor here being that she should strip much fitter into this second up. The map looks very favourable here with the Gavin Bedggood trained galloper being the only real leader of note. Terrific value.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
