Racing Tips – Friday Best Bets for Benalla and Moonee Valley

Yulong Command - Horse Racing Tips

It’s Grand Final eve and racing is at Benalla for Cup Day, as well as Moonee Valley at night for the Group 1 Moir Stakes. Expect heavy ground at Benalla, while Moonee Valley should be soft but improving.

Best Bet

3. Not Usual Glorious
Benalla R8 (4:50pm)

Not Usual Glorious looks exceptionally well placed in the 2022 Benalla Cup. The Travis Double trained six year old won three straight before dropping trip and running a creditable sixth – beaten a length and a half – under 60Kg in the Balaklava Cup. Back out to 2046m looks ideal for him, expect Neil Farley to take up the lead and give nothing else a look in.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

3. Ultimate Edition
Benalla R6 (3:30pm)

Ultimate Edition returns to the turf after three straight second placings on the Synthetic in what have been decent form races. Teo Nugent should press forward on him here and take plenty of running down.

Recommended Price: $4.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

3. Clemenceau
Moonee Valley R3 (7:15pm)

Clemenceau looks poised to make a winning return to Moonee Valley. He was narrowly downed by a very talented stablemate first up in Sydney and the lightly raced four year old did not lose any admirers in the process. The Hawkes trained gelding should be able to record his fifth win at start five.

Recommended Price: $2.10
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

4. Yulong Command
Moonee Valley R5 (8:15pm)

Yulong Command has a remarkable record over the sprint trips at Moonee Valley (7:5-1-1) and the Freedman trained gelding should be right in the finish here. The barrier draw is perfect for him to find the lead and his recent jump outs suggest he is going as well as ever.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

7. Makram
Moonee Valley R6 (8:45pm)

Makram was a most impressive winner last start at Flemington and should only be improved getting out to 2040m here. The Hayes trained gelding was a winner out to 2400m in the UK. Jye McNeil should give him the run of the race from barrier four and prove strong through the line.

Recommended Price: $3.30
Confidence Level: 4/5

12. Coolangatta
Moonee Valley R7 (9:15pm)

Coolangatta was a touch disappointing but the star two year old can bounce back in a big way. The inside barrier is critical to her chances – Jamie Kah should have no trouble finding the front – and expect her to take plenty of running down.

Recommended Price: $6.50
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
