Autissiodorum took longer than many anticipated to break his maiden but finally did it in emphatic style at Wodonga races last start, winning by eight lengths. This is a much tougher field but he has long promised good ability and the front running tactics – never a disadvantage around here – seem to get the best out of him.

Damien Oliver heads to Geelong for one ride and it’s no surprise he was keen to jump on Legio Ten after the way he finished off on debut. The extra trip here is very much to his advantage and he should be able to sit a little closer in the run.

Geelong 6/10 Astral Knight (3:30pm)
Astral Knight caught the eye with a fast finishing fourth last start at Warrnambool. There wasn’t much between him and Cadbury Castle there but Astral Knight was the pick of the runs. Suspect Cadbury will start shorter here and the value will be with Astral, who is capable of settling much closer in the run.

Scone 8/2 Our Playboy (4:00pm)
Our Playboy is on the quick back up from the Coast last Saturday at Gosford where he ran on well to finish fourth. He gets a 3.5Kg weight swing on Rustic Steel out of that race and his only other run on a short back up was a terrific second when most unlucky in the Cranbourne Cup. He just needs some luck from the wide draw.
