RLWC Tips – Tonga v Cook Islands – Pool D

Tonga have looked a little shaky this World Cup but with their spiritual leader set to return they look set to bring out their best performance against their Pacific neighbours.

Best Bet

Tonga -26.5
Line

Tonga have been far from impressive this World Cup but get their leader Jason Taumalolo back and will be all-in on this game against the Cook Islands in a bid to get their form somewhere capable of competing with England and Samoa.

The Cook Islands have failed to cover each of their two games with a poor showing in their win against Wales and a final score that flattered the Kukis against Papua New Guinea.

The real concern for the Kukis in this one is the aggressiveness of the Tongan pack. They can steamroll opponents and the pack is certainly the weakness for the Cook Islands.

These two have met 11 times with Tonga winning 10 of those including a 28-8 win at their most recent meeting in 2015.

Keaon Koloamatangi has scored in each of his last two World Cup games.

Value Bet

Jason Taumalolo
To Score A Try

Jason Taumalolo does not score a lot of tries these days but he remains a fearsome runner and will be desperate to make an impact after missing the opening two games through suspension. He has scored a try at each of the last two World Cups and can make it three straight.
