Samoa and Fiji are both off wins and it is a classy Samoa team that should prove too good in Auckland.
Best Bet
Samoa opened their 2024 campaign with a comfortable 30-16 win over Tonga. Despite a scare when Tonga hit the front, Samoa proved too strong with Jessica Patea and Lindsay Tui scoring late tries.
Tui was outstanding running for 147m and breaking the line twice to go with her try. Monalisa Soliolia had two try assists while Evah McEwen had 12 tackle busts from the bench.
Fiji rolled the Cook Islands 18-6 but failed to cover on the back of a 1/4 kicking game. Vitalina Naikore scored a hat-trick and broke 12 tackles in a dominant performance.
Jamie Soward has named an unchanged team while Fiji have just one change.
These teams met last year and Samoa won by 14 and the gap seems bigger this year, particularly with Evania Pelite at the back for Samoa.
Lay the points.
Same Game Multi
Evania Pelite has nine tries in her last two seasons for the Titans and is Samoa’s most dynamic player.
Lindsay Tui scored a double against Fiji last year and now has three tries in her two international appearances.
Value Bet
Evah McEwen was outstanding on her Test debut, breaking a ton of tackles in a hugely impactful performance from the bench. She has played just two NRLW matches but scored from the bench in the semi this year against the Roosters. She is likely going to be huge odds to score.
