Thanksgiving Day in the USA means three NFL games to be played on Friday, Australian time. Detroit host Green Bay, Dallas host Washington, and Seattle host San Francisco.
Packers @ Lions
The balance of power has shifted in the NFC North and the Lions should maintain their four game winning streak against the rival that dominated them for so many years.
Nevertheless, with the Lions defence having played poorly in three of its last four games, the Over looks the best play in this game.
The Lions are fresh off giving up 26 points to the Bears, and they were absolutely shredded by the Ravens and Chargers prior to that. In between they did a good job of containing the Raiders, but head coach Josh McDaniels was fired in the wake of that one.
Similarly, it’s hard to see the Lions offence being contained. They posted 34 points when these teams met earlier in the season, and have not looked like slowing down since. Their lowest yards number in any game this season is 337.
Both of Detroit’s divisional games have gone over while two of Green Bay’s three have.
Expecting the Packers to be able to move the ball here and Love did pass this number when these teams met earlier in the year. He comes off a career high in passing yards last week against the Chargers. Montgomery is the Lions preferred back in the red zone and has eight touchdowns on seven games this season.
Giants @ Cowboys
Dallas have six wins of 20 points or more this season and look set for another blowout over their divisional opponents.
The Commanders defence just made Tommy DeVito look like a competent NFL quarterback so travelling to face Dak Prescott looks a diabolical prospect.
This is all the more because Dallas have been destroying teams at home this season, beating the Jets by 20, the Patriots by 35, the Rams by 23 and the Giants by 32.
None of those teams are any good, but neither are the Commanders. Sam Howell has been decent passing the ball, but he has also been sacked 51 times – 13 more than any other quarterback.
Expect an easy Dallas win.
Prescott has thrown for 13 touchdowns in his last four games. Sam Howell has 442 pass attempts this season. 60 more than any other player.
49ers @ Seahawks
The injury cloud over Geno Smith only solidifies the 49ers as the pick in this one.
San Francisco showed that their three game losing streak was an aberration with two dominant wins since they came back from a bye.
They embarrassed the Jaguars, then comfortably handled the Bucs at home after that.
While Seattle for a long time had the whip hand in this matchup, the 49ers showed last year that they have well and truly got their divisional rivals measure.
They won all three games they played last year by 8, 18 and 20 points, the 18 point win coming in the playoffs.
While the Niners could be backed to deal with the best version of the Seahawks, with injury designations next to Smith and a whole host of key teammates, they should be able to cover this line comfortably.
Purdy has cleared 250 passing yards in seven of his last eight games, failing only against the Browns. After a somewhat indifferent start to this season George Kittle has been on fire in the last four games with at least 78 receiving yards, clearing 100 twice.
