The final week of the regular season kicks off with the Steelers visiting the Ravens, after which the Colts play the Texans with a playoff spot on the line.
Ravens @ Steelers
Baltimore will be resting several key starters including quarterback Lamar Jackson and with the Steelers desperate to win to make the playoffs, they are a solid bet laying just three points at home.
Since Mason Rudolph started at quarterback the Steelers have found a real spark on offence. The forecast weather will likely make it difficult for Pittsburgh to have a big day through the air but the threat of it can help open things up in the run game.
In games where teams have rested starters road teams have a particularly good record against the number, going 21-7-1 since 2011.
The Steelers have already beaten the Ravens when both teams were at full strength and they can do so again.
George Pickens is coming off back to back big games and has developed a good connection with Rudolph. Huntley is something of a poor man’s Jackson, but is quite capable with his legs.
Texans @ Colts
Rookie sensation CJ Stroud has had an awesome season for the Texans but on the road in a huge game, the Colts have to be the play.
The Texans have benefited from spending much of the second half of the season at home, with their only road games being a blowout loss to the Jets as well as an overtime win over Tennessee.
When these two sides met in Week 2, Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew came into the game for Anthony Richardson and was able to pick the Texans defence apart en route to a 31-20 win.
The Colts ride a three game winning streak at LucasOil Stadium coming into this one and it’s hard to see why they are underdogs with what is a significant home field advantage.
Minshew completed 82% of his passes when these teams met earlier this year. Under the dome he should have no trouble doing so again. Former Buffalo Bill Singletary has been a revelation for the Texans backfield this season.
