NFL Tips – Monday Night Football – Week 2 2023

Betseeker’s expert tipsters have you covered for the best NFL tips and predictions for every day of the NFL season.

It’s a Monday Night Football doubleheader when the Carolina Panthers host the New Orleans Saints while the Cleveland Browns will be looking to continue their momentum when they travel to Pittsburgh.

Best Bet

Pittsburgh +2.5
Line

Pittsburgh were blown away by San Francisco in Week 1 but coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season and we don’t expect that to begin in 2023.

The Browns have had an awful time of it in Pittsburgh. Since 2017 their only cover against the division rivals on the road was in that bizarre playoff game with zero fans in the stadium.

As Nick Tedeschi pointed out when tipping yesterday’s successful best bet (Seattle), this is a strong bounceback spot for the Steelers.

Teams that fail to cover the Week 1 pointspread by over 14 points have an obscene 70% cover rate in Week 2. Teams off a double digit Week 1 loss cover at 63% in Week 2. Week 2 underdogs of +6 or fewer off a Week 1 loss cover at just over 65%.

Back Mike Tomlin to have his team ready here.

Total Points - Saints @ Panthers

These division rivals have a history of low scoring games and nothing we saw in Week 1 suggests that will change in 2023.

In his first game for the Saints new quarterback Derek Carr showed that despite the new uniform, nothing has changed. He’s capable of putting up big numbers of empty yards, but the Saints struggled in the red zone, finishing up with a solitary touchdown despite 351 yards of offence.

In Carolina, new quarterback Bryce Young struggled with just 146 yards and completing only 20 of 38 passes. The Panthers receiving corps is among the worst in the league and it looks like being a long season for the number one draft pick.

Everything points to a low scoring game here.

New Orleans experienced defence should pose too many problems for Young and the Panthers.

Saints wideout Rashid Shaheed has gone over his receiving yard line in seven of his last eight games.
