Chicago’s offence is in for a much tougher time when they travel to Washington to meet the Commanders on Thursday Night Football.
Best Bet
Justin Fields may have looked like a competent NFL quarterback against the Denver Broncos last week but that says far more about the Broncos than it does about Fields.
Through the first four weeks of the season the Broncos are the lowest ranked defence in the entire league, and worst through four weeks of the season in the entire history of the DVOA metric.
While they were able to put up 28 points against Denver last week, Chicago’s offensive output has been 20, 17 and 10 in their three other games. They are a bad unit.
Washington are middle of the pack defensively – and their run defence has been problematic – but their offence should be able to get on top early in this one.
Sam Howell has been highly productive in his first year as starter, and apart from a disappointing outing against the elite Bills defence, has put the Commanders in a position to win every game.
Fields is notoriously poor when having to play from behind, so if Washington get on top early there is no reason this won’t be a comfortable win for the home team.

The Bears rank 31st in points per drive allowed. So the Commanders should have no trouble scoring. Brian Robinson leads the way with 3 TD’s this season, and while Terry McLaurin only has the one, Washington’s leading receiver should be able to get on track here.
Value Bet
Chicago got a big lead early against Denver last week before self destructing late. We obviously expect Washington to get on top early here, but if they don’t, we are getting a very attractive price for another implosion.
