NFL Tips – Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets – Week 6 2024

The New York Jets will be looking to the ‘fired coach effect’ when they host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

Best Bet

New York +1.5
Line

Jets owner Woody Johnson ended Robert Saleh’s reign of error earlier in the week after a 2-3 start to the season.

Saleh and quarterback Aaron Rodgers never looked to be on the same page, but the defence, Saleh’s specialty, certainly hasn’t been the problem.

The Jets currently rank second in yards per drive and fourth in points, and can certainly make life difficult for the Bills offence which has been awful in the last two weeks.

Buffalo’s lack of receiving talent has really come home to bite and their offensive line has disappointed as well.

Firing a head coach certainly seems to have a positive effect on a team. Since 2003 teams are 17-21 straight up in that position which doesn’t sound great but those teams are 100-256-3 prior.

Against the number teams with a fired coach do well, going 22-16 against the line in the week after a dismissal.

The Jets have typically played Buffalo well in recent years and look nice value to cause the upset.

New York +1.5, Under 40.5, Allen 30+ Rushing Yards

Expecting a low scoring game here.

The Bills offence should be contained by the Jets outstanding defence, who typically play them well, while the Jets offence doesn’t scare anyone.

Expect that Josh Allen will be forced to get some yards on the ground to help propel the Bills offence. He’s covered this line in 3/5 games this season.

Value Bet

Josh Allen
First Touchdown

Allen is a genuine threat in the red zone and has already run two scores in this season.
