NFL Tips – Best Prop Bets – Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is truly a feast for the betting senses with more prop betting options available than in any other sporting event. Here are the six strongest bets.

Shortest Touchdown

Under 1.5 Yards
Shortest 'Touchdown

This is always a bet in the Super Bowl and just hits time and time again. Since Super Bowl 50, there has been a one-yard touchdown in six of the seven games played. In the last 32 years, there has been 22 games where the shortest touchdown has been one-yard and 29 with a touchdown of two yards or shorter. This is short but this is money.

Kenneth Gainwell Anytime Touchdown

Anytime Touchdown

Kenneth Gainwell has played an increasingly large role in the Eagles offense across the playoffs. He has had touch counts of 13 and 16 and scored against the Giants. Gainwell has five touchdowns this season, the Eagles like to run the ball when close and no team has conceded more catches to opposition running backs than the Chiefs.

Tommy Townsend Longest Punt

Under 56.5 Yards
Longest Punt

This is an utterly insane price, particularly the high total which suggests very few punts. Recent Super Bowl history suggests large punts are rare. The only player to boot a punt longer than 57 yards in the last five Super Bowls was Jonny Hekker with his record breaking 65-yarder. Townsend has a big boot but this is a big number to surpass on the biggest stage.

Successful 2 Point Conversion

Yes
Successful 2 Point Conversion

The two-point conversion attempt has become commonplace in the Super Bowl. In the last seven Super Bowls, at least one two-point try has been attempted in four of them. Two-point success rates hit at around the 49% mark. The Chiefs rank tied for fourth in successful two-point plays this year while the Eagles rank in the top half.

Largest Lead

Under 14.5
Largest Lead

In the last 20 Super Bowls, the largest lead in any single game has topped 15 points in just four of those. This game is one of the closest Super Bowls in betting history. Both teams have the ability to score quickly but the under looks the bet in this. The twos-on looks a gift.

Gatorade Colour

Blue
Gatorade Colour

Blue may not be the colour of either Philadelphia or Kansas City but that does not mean it won’t be the colour of the Gatorade poured over the winning coach. Blue has hit in three of the last four Super Bowls and four times in the last eight years. Twice were with the Patriots but notable that 2021 Bucs, who have no blue in their colours, also hit. The Eagles went with yellow in 2018 and the Chiefs went with Orange in 2020 – neither colours representing the team. Blue looks the value play.
