NBA Tips – Monday, October 28 NBA Picks & Multi

Cam Thomas - NBA Tips

The Bucks got lit up against the Bulls last start, and a trend continues to appear from their roster carried over from last season which should see a young Net capitalise.

Best Bet

New Orleans @ Portland Trail Blazers (9:10am)

Deandre Ayton
Over 10.5 Rebounds

Not too early in the season to identify that bigs are going to dominate the glass against the Pelicans.

The Trail Blazers will face New Orleans once again after just falling short last start, where Deandre Ayton finished with 15 rebounds. Vucevic also had a big game in New Orleans season opener with 21 points and 11 rebounds, with the Pelicans playing Theis, rookie Yves Missi at centre and Zion pinch-hitting.

Ayton was 5th in the NBA for rebounds per game from January 24 onwards last season averaging 11.9, so the line of 10.5 appears low against most NBA teams – against New Orleans it’s extraordinarily low.

SGM – Ingram 20+ Points / Ayton Over 10.5 Rebounds / Zion 6+ Rebounds = $4.33

Next Best

Milwaukee Bucks @ Brooklyn Nets (9:10am)

Cam Thomas
Over 24.5 Points

The Bucks had the same issue last season – defending scoring guards. Although I had the unders for Coby White on Saturday, this Milwaukee outfit made him look like Allen Iverson and he dropped 35. In White’s other two games, he’s had 10 and 9.

LaVine also got off the chain against Milwaukee with 25, while Giddey had 17 in 24 minutes.

Enter Cam Thomas – the Brooklyn Net is a bucket. His shot selection is questionable, but someone needs to score for this Nets team and he’s certainly capable of doing that. CT had 36 in their season opener against the Hawks, followed by 24 against the Magic – but I’m ok with this as the back-court of Suggs and Caldwell-Pope for Orlando could rival Boston as the best defensive back-court in the NBA.

Expect Thomas to push 30 points in this match-up.

SGM – Nets +9.5 / Thomas 25+ Points / Giannis 10+ Rebounds = $3.60

Value Bet

LA Clippers @ Golden State Warriors (11:40am)

Buddy Hield
15+ Points

At last, Buddy Hield is in a situation where all the coach wants him to do is jack triples without consequence.

This is an incredible fit for the former Pacer / 76er effectively filling the void of Klay Thompson, and he’s thrived immediately. Hield has scored 22 and 27 in the two opening games in limited minutes which has him leading the NBA in points per 36 minutes at a whopping 50.9, and field goal attempts per 36 minutes at 27 per 36 minutes.

In this they’re up against the Clippers who enter this off no rest from Denver, so I can see this being a blowout where Golden State’s bench gets another nice run, and if that’s the case expect Buddy to keep launching.

SGM – Hield Over 11.5 Points / Zubac 10+ Rebounds / Wiggins 4+ Rebounds = $4.50
