Brandon Miller - NBA Tips

The injuries are starting to pile up at a number of teams early in the season, which means there will be players that are the beneficiary of this with additional usage.

Best Bet

Memphis Grizzlies @ Portland Trail Blazers (1:10pm)

Jaren Jackson Jr
Over 23.5 Points

The Grizzlies injury curse continues with Ja Morant joining Bane and Smart on the sidelines – Jaren Jackson Jr remains fit though and this points low should be covered.

JJJ is averaging 35.5 points per 36 minutes with Morant, Bane and Smart off the floor, and scored 39 points last start in just 28 minutes against Washington.

Last season when these guard were out we would see JJJ’s points line as high as 29.5, averaging 26 points per game across 24 games in games without the trio last season. Portland isn’t exactly a defensive juggernaut, so can quite easily see JJJ having another 30 in this.

SGM – Jackson Jr Over 23.5 Points / Wells 10+ Points / Ayton 10+ Rebounds = $5.00

Next Best

Charlotte Hornets @ Philadelphia 76ers (11:10am)

Brandon Miller
Over 26.5 PRA

Small sample size to start the season after getting injured in the opener, but Brandon Miller has a huge opportunity early in the season.

With both Miles Bridges and Nick Richards out for Charlotte, Miller’s minutes should increase to around 34-35 against the 76ers, and is coming off a 29-point, 6-rebound and 6-assist performance against the Pacers in the first game the Bridges-Richards combo missed together.

When Bridges and Richards are off the floor this season, Miller averages 33.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per 36 minutes, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Miller covered this PRA line in points alone against the team with the worst record in the NBA in Philadelphia.

SGM – Miller 20+ Points / Martin Over 4.5 Rebounds / Miller 2+ Assists = $4.20

Value Bet

Miami Heat @ Minnesota Timberwolves (11:10am)

Terry Rozier
6+ Assists

The Jimmy Butler absence provides more opportunity for the Miami starters, and instinctively we go-to Tyler Herro, but I don’t mind Terry Rozier in this.

Rozier is averaging 7.2 assists per 36 minutes with Butler off the floor this season – 2 assists up on the 5.2 assists per 36 minutes he averages this season. He’s not far off on current form, having 4+ in six of the eight games this season averaging 4.4 per game. Expect an increase in usage which makes the 6+ assists great value here.

SGM – Herro 20+ Points / Edwards 25+ Points / Rozier Over 4.5 Assists = $4.00
