Croatia has had plenty of luck in their World Cup run but have also been incredibly impressive defensively.
Dominik Livakovic has had an almost flawless tournament in goal and his efforts in each penalty shootout have been a key reason for Croatia’s deep run. Argentina’s keeper Emi Martinez has had a similar run, starring in their penalty shootout win over the Dutch.
Like the Brazil match, Croatia will want to drag this one out for as long as they can to heap the pressure on Argentina.
They likely won’t try and score themselves but Livakovic and the Croatian defence should be able to hold out their opponents for the first 45.

It’s hard to count out either side from advancing in this match. Croatia are coming off a World Cup Final run in 2018 and are determined to go one better, while Argentina have never lost a semi-final in their World Cup history.
Argentina have scored nine goals this tournament and Croatia will be at a big disadvantage if this turns into a goal fest so expect another staunch defensive effort from Zlatko Dalic’s side.
With goals likely hard to come by, look to player shots rather than goals markets. Ivan Perisic has been Croatia’s most consistent player and has had eight shots over the past two matches. $4.50 for 3+ shots is a great value play for the Croatian star.
