AFL Same Game Multi Betting Analysis
Let’s look at some key stats to see if we can find an edge for this year’s decider.
Disposals
- Grand Finals are typically lower disposal games. Only three of the last 12 Grand Finalists have exceeded their season average total disposals in a Grand Final.
- Last year no player reached 30 disposals and only three reached 25 disposals (N.Daicos, K.Coleman and J.Crisp).
- The last Brisbane v Sydney game was a low disposal game for midfielders. The players to clear 25 disposals were D.Zorko (29), E.Gulden (27), H.McCluggage (26) and R.Fox (26).
Goals
- The players to kick more than three goals in a Grand Final since 2017 have been B.Hill (4), T.Stengle (4), B.Fritsch (6), D.Martin (4) and J.Riewoldt (5).
- The last Brisbane v Sydney game had 16 individual goal-kickers, with J.Daniher and H.McCluggage (3 each) joint highest goal-kickers.
- The only player to kick more than three goals in the last four Brisbane v Sydney games was Buddy Franklin in 2022 (6.0).
Same Game Multi Disposal Anchors
Very keen here. The Brisbane star will be in for a rough afternoon with a tag from James Jordan, who kept him to 18 touches in Round 19. Only had 19 touches against Bedford tag in the Semi Final and dealing with a heel injury too.
Has a great record against the Swans, racking up 25+ in his last two. Also had 24+ in last five. Likely to get plenty of freedom with Jordan sitting on Neale.
Has been down the last two games so we get an inflated price for 15+, a mark he has cleared in nine straight. Only had one kick-in last week but had 3+ in eight games prior.
Good mix of inside and outside game and has cleared this mark in six straight. Has proven himself as a big game player despite only being in second season.
Value Bets
Think the smalls and mids will be better plays than the talls. Both of these teams have very good 1v1 key defenders and the tall most likely to fire, Joe Daniher, may spend extra time in the ruck with Oscar McInerney out.
A few players with poor records in the last four games between these teams are Tom Papley (two goals), Chad Warner (one goal) and Charlie Cameron (four goals).
Lohmann has kicked 2+ in four of his last five games and 1.3 last week. Has scored as many goals as Charlie Cameron in his last five games (10) but is a much larger price.
Just on fire at present, kicking eight goals in his last three games. Has also kicked 3+ in two of his last three against Brisbane. Could very easily see Amartey or McLean subbed early if they Swans are struggling and Heeney returning to his pseudo-centre half forward role.
We’re big on Hugh for the Norm Smith Medal and these are tasty prices for him to hit the scoreboard. Kicked one last week and three against the Swans in Round 19.
