Golf Best Bets – Tour Championship Betting Tips 2022

The PGA season wraps up at Eastlake with the Top 30 in the FexEx Cup Playoffs doing battle with the much-criticised staggered start featuring again.

Best Bet

Scottie Scheffler
Tour Championship Winner 2022

Scottie Scheffler will start with a two-stroke advantage on second-placed Patrick Cantlay and is six strokes clear of all but three others. It is a huge advantage and particularly so when East Lake will suit beautifully. Scheffler leads the Tour in GIR while he ranks Top 6 in Ball Striking, Birdie or Better, Putting Average, Par 4 Scoring and Strokes Gained: Tee To Green. It is hard to see him giving up such an advantage.

Mid-Tier Bet

Tony Finau
Lowest 72 Hole Score

Tony Finau absolutely loves Donald Ross courses and that showed when he won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in July. He also posted a Top 10 in Aronimink in the 2018 BMW Championship. Finau ranks 2nd in Par 4 Scoring, 5th in GIR, 7th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, 12th in Birdie or Better and 13th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee.

Value Bet

Cameron Young
Lowest 72 Hole Score

Young has already shown the ability to go low. He has 39 rounds in the 60s in just 24 tournaments, an excellent return. He was in contention late in two majors. He ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee, 4th in Par 4 Scoring, 6th in Birdie or Better and 14th in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green.

Longshot Bet

Sungjae Im
Tour Championship Winner 2022

South Korean Sungjae Im has a big task in front of him. He starts seven adrift of Scottie Scheffler but he should love East Lake. He has a great record on Donald Ross courses. He ranks 3rd in Ball Striking, 4th in Scrambling and 9th in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee so he has very few holes in his game.
